That got it. Thanks. Never use it so I am not sure how it got checked. Sleep typing, prbably. |
Is it possible that the arrays are being generated in real time so that the ListPlot[Table[....]] process is getting hung up on the Table generation? |
Yes, thanks. It does, but it opened up another set of questions. The issue was not just the smooth curve, it was what the higher precision and accuracy curves were, what they mean if anything and whether they are telling me things that the smooth... |
This is a strange issue. Sometimes I cannot Clear[] the value of a constant and the subsequent calculations seem to lock the value in. Also, I have run into instances where dividing using " / " works then stops working and I have to put the complete... |
Hello, again. I have been working a particular calculation on and off for six months. It has been one step forward and one step back. The group has been helpful, but when I begin to dig a bit deeper, the help runs out of steam. I have a parametric... |
Good answer. Visual stars are not typically very distant relative to the size of the galaxy but still distant enough that the out of plane count would show up as a thinning. Even out toward the galactic rim there should be a density increase, but not... |
What you say is true, to a point. Theoretical physicists often do let the math do the physics, which is a terrible mistake. The whole high energy physics domain is replete with various predictions built on mathematical symmetries and manipulations.... |
Thank you for your efforts and insights. As payment, I took #4 to heart and opened an elliptical integral and yelled at it " No more branch cuts!!!" See if that helps. I will look into your suggestions as soon as I get my wife's car running... |
We have walked the same dusty trail. I had forgotten about Macsyma. I do some of the things you suggest, but in a less ordered fashion. I have several worksheets that I have input various solutions and approaches to problems, and I just keep using... |
That may be the answer. However, it appears to be unduly complicated for my purposes, but it may be where I have to go to get the results I am looking for. I can differentiate my parametric function before I plot it. The undifferentiated function is... |
