Phillip Robertson is a senior analyst for Artificial Intelligence and Information Security at the RAND corporation. In 2016 he joined Google X to work on an experimental power-generating aircraft, which achieved numerous successful flights. During the covid-19 pandemic he became fascinated with an open problem in physics concerning point vortex crystals which led to a machine-learning system to find solutions. A theoretical explanation of how these crystals form was published in 2024 which implicated higher dimensional symmetries. Phillip has deep interests in mathematics and computing.
