Yousof Mardoukhi is currently a researcher at the University of Potsdam where he at the same time is the system administrator and does studies on the theory of random walk in random environments. His interests embrace also information and encoding theory and as well as algebraic structures of stochastic processes.

Yousof was born in Tehran and grew in the same city. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Shahid Beheshti University in Solid-State Physics. He then moved to Finland and graduated from Tampere University of Technology. He then moved to Germany to continue his studies as a PhD candidate where his dissertation concerned the random walk process on finite-size clusters generated near the critical percolation density.

Amongst his hobbies, he enjoys riding his bike, travelling, history and reading books. At the same time his trying his best to still contribute to the science by carrying out researches every now and then.
