Hi, I’m Yuvraj Chaudhary — a high school student with a deep interest in engineering, computer science, and research. I enjoy building real-world tools, leading technical teams, and combining different areas of knowledge to solve interesting problems.
I currently serve as captain of a 67-member robotics team (7405R), where I lead strategy, design, programming, and am the driver of the robot. We've won multiple state championships and placed among the top teams worldwide at the World Championship in Dallas. My work centers on mechanical and systems engineering — designing the robot, working on pneumatic mechanisms, and optimizing structural components using tools like Fusion 360, 3D printing, CNC/LBM machining — alongside developing autonomous navigation systems using odometry, PID control, and Monte Carlo localization.
One of my biggest strengths is how I bring an artistic perspective into engineering. My background in visual art helps me think more creatively about structure, motion, and aesthetics — whether I’m designing a robot mechanism or planning a user interface. It pushes me to care about both how things work and how they feel.
Outside of robotics, I’ve co-founded a few small tech ventures, worked with real businesses to test and improve products, and lead a nonprofit that runs a free STEM camp for middle schoolers in Newark. I also organize an annual student-led hackathon at my high school — helping other students bring their ideas to life and creating a space for innovation and collaboration.
Lately, I’ve been diving into projects and research in quantum computing, topology optimization, and computational art — all areas that let me explore the edges of what’s possible when science meets design.
In my free time, I love to write, draw, hike, ski, and explore new foods. I’m always building, always learning, and always looking for the next challenge.
