I am 15 years old and a rising 11th grader in New York who is passionate about mathematics, computer science and technology innovation. I am the youngest and first ever Middle School Mentee of the Wolfram Mentorships Program. I started learning the Wolfram Language in January 2016 and over the last 7 months, I had the privilege to work with the most amazing mentors from Wolfram Research who have taken me from zero to one with the Wolfram Language. I look forward to continue to expand my knowledge and hope to apply it to other areas of my academic endeavors. I would also like to expand the reach of the platform to my school and beyond.
I believe that technology can be used to help solve problems and make the world a better place. I am also a strong advocate for STEM and would like to encourage all girls to explore their interests in science and technology. In 2015, I won second place in Technovation Challenge, a global technology entrepreneurship competition for girls. In June 2016, I was named First Place National Grand Prize Winner at ProjectCSGIRLS, a national computer science competition for girls. Most recently, I was named one of New York’s 10 Under 20 Young Innovators to Watch.
Born in Hong Kong and lived there for ten years, I come from a family with diverse background from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Among my favorite foods are Chinese dumplings, Vietnamese Pho, Hainanese chicken rice, and lasagna. Fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and learning German and French, my goal is to speak as many languages as possible. In my free time, I enjoy coding, reading, biking, and going to movies with my Dad.
