Adam Goucher just found the first glider in the Game of Life (Rule 224) that has a non-diagonal / non-orthogonal displacement. It moves like a knight once every 6 turns. There has been a 48 year search for one of these.
This has now been added to 2D CA Glider Database. The official name Sir Robin has been assigned to it.
