What is the symbol for exponentiation and where is it found?

Posted 11 years ago
For example, I want to enter:

5 raised to the 7th power without having to say "5^7"

Assuming that you are talking about Mathematica rather than Wolfram|Alpha, you can also do various formatting tasks using the "Basic Math Assistant Palette" .

And if you want the power in a superscript, then 5 ctrl^ 7 puts the 7 as a superscript exponent. Use ctrl-space to fininsh inputting the exponent.

You can always type = followed by what you need :-)
