Reinstalling operating system on computer with Mathematica for Sites

Posted 11 years ago
Hello,

I have a Linux laptop with Mathematica 9.0.1 from my university (Utrecht University). I want to install a new version of the operating system on the same computer.
Can I reinstall Mathematica and use the same license key, or are any other steps required like uninstalling Mathematica first on the old system?

If it's a new OS, you probably have to get your activation key reactivated. For all purposes, it's as if you were moving Mathematica to a new machine.

See this article which provides a link to a form which will help you through this quickly.

Thank you for your reply.
For the moment I still need Mathematica for school, to avoid problems with activation I will postpone reinstalling the OS until that project is finished (tomorrow, hopefully).
