Free-form input to command name

Posted 11 years ago

Hello, As a newcomer to Mathematica, I ordered and received the "Hands-on start to Mathematica...." book and received it. I encounter a problem when trying to copy one of the example shown in the book. On page 12, the authors use a free-form input to build an enquiry about the life expectancy in the US. From that they say that it is possible to find that the command used is "CountryData["United States","LifeExpecancy"], but they don't give any precision how to find this command.

I tried to use the free-form entry for conversion to inline Wolfram Language (Ctrl+=) or the free-form entry to generate Wolfram language (=), and I got of course the answer and a lot of informations, but I can not find the "CountryData" command.

It seems that the example shown in the book does not correspond to my version of Mathematica 10.2.

Any help ? Thanks in advance

Dear Francois,

CountryData["UnitedStates", "LifeExpectancy"]

works just fine on my computer.

The only difference is that I write "UnitedStates" without space, and I used a different spelling of "LiveExpectancy".

Cheers,

Marco
