Dr Farai Fredric Mlambo is a full-time academic within the School of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of the Witwatersrand (Johannesburg, South Africa). Before joining the University of the Witwatersrand in 2017, Farai was employed as a Statistical Analyst (Fever Tree Finance), Institutional Researcher (Office of the Vice-Chancellor, Nelson Mandela University) and Lecturer (Department of Statistics, Nelson Mandela University). Farai has also served as the Deputy-Director of Statistics at the Cultural Observatory in Port Elizabeth. Farai's academic qualifications are: PhD (Mathematical Statistics), MCom Statistics (Cum-Laude), BCom Hons Mathematical Statistics (Cum-Laude) and BCom Economics and Statistics (Cum-Laude) - Nelson Mandela University, formerly called University of Port Elizabeth, in South Africa.

Farai received ten Top Achievement Academic Awards at Nelson Mandela University, the Nelson Mandela University Council Award for the Best Honors Degree in Science, Engineering and Technology, the Nelson Mandela University Council Award for the Best Initial Degree Award in the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences and the Golden Key International Honor Society New Member Chapter Award. A conference paper, based on Farai's PhD research (implemented in the Wolfram Language) received the Best Paper Award at the European Simulation and Modelling Conference (ESM 2019) held in Spain.

Farai has used the Wolfram Language (Mathematica) for about 10 years and has about 15 years of teaching and research experience in Mathematics, Statistics and Economics. Farai has recently pioneered a Wolfram Mathematica Community group at the University of the Witwatersrand where seminars and live cording sessions are presented by academics and practitioners from various disciplines, showcasing how one can use the Wolfram Language for a Computational "X", X = {Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Finance, Law, Literature, Medicine, History, Geography, Chemistry, Psychology etc.
