Thanks Jason, this is great. I started playing around with different images and I noticed something, though: if you use a square image for the foreground, the wormhole becomes elliptical. If you change the aspect ratio to 2:1, it goes back to a circle. When I use a square image for the background, the image inside the wormhole wraps and I get a vertical line in the middle of the interior. I don't know how to fix that issue...just wondering if you have any thoughts.

Outstanding work! I wonder if it is possible to also reproduce black hole image from interstellar, at least to some extent, probably not that perfect as the tremendous CGI rendering in the movie. The computation would guide a reader to the understanding of physics of the black hole visual. Images credit - NASA (one, two).
